Laura D.

Laura has dedicated over two decades to elevating Paramount DaySpa Salon since acquiring it in 2000 from her longtime friend and esthetician, Ellen Gaunt. With a strong background in business and finance, she has guided Paramount to remarkable growth while preserving its trusted reputation. Her vision from the start was to create a positive and supportive workplace where beauty professionals could thrive.

Beyond her passion for the beauty industry, Laura has an eye for fashion, which led her to introduce jewelry and clothing into Paramount’s small retail space. What began as a modest offering quickly grew into Paramount Boutique, becoming an integral part of the business and a favorite among clients.

An entrepreneurial spirit runs in Laura’s family, and she takes pride in carrying forward this tradition of leadership. She is especially honored to work alongside her daughter, Sarah, who is stepping into a leadership role to continue the business’s legacy. Laura recently won the Indigenous Woman Entrepreneur Award in 2025 from NACCA.

Laura is also a dedicated community leader, having served on various boards, including the Saskatoon Women’s Network, and as a proud 20-year member of the Saskatoon Club of Soroptimist International. She cherishes time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and remains deeply passionate about her work and the community she serves.

Sarah D.

Sarah began her career with Paramount at a young age when she worked as a receptionist while still in high school. She then took on the role of Director of Sales after completing her Bachelor of Commerce in 2009, then transitioning to Operations and Marketing Director in 2022.

Creating a supportive team atmosphere is important to Sarah and the Paramount culture. She works closely with each Paramount team member to assist and encourage them to learn and perfect new skills, build a clientele, grow sales, and provide the best experience. Sarah also works closely with team members when developing new service offerings and building promotions that move the business forward.

Sarah comes from an entrepreneurial family with several family members who own and operate their own businesses. Sarah considers herself very lucky to have worked alongside her mom, Laura, at Paramount over the past 23 years. Together they have continued to uphold the reputation that Paramount has held for over 70 years.

Paramount DaySpa Salon Boutique was one of the first Spa and Salon’s in Saskatoon to carry a large selection of clothing, jewelry, and accessories. Sarah and Laura had a vision to integrate the two beauty industries, and this quickly became a favorite of Paramount customers. Over the years, Sarah and Laura have organized many fashion shows and shopping events showcasing Paramount Boutique.

Having a presence in the community is also important to Sarah and the Paramount team. Sarah initiated Paramount’s annual purse drive in support of local women’s shelters. She also set up Paramount’s May initiative where a portion of sales are donated to an organization each year in honour of Paramount’s previous owner, the late Ellen Gaunt.

In 2023, Sarah was awarded “Beauty & Fashion Business Leader of the Year 2023” through the AI Influential Businesswoman Awards.

When Sarah isn’t with her Paramount family she is at home with her husband and two children.

Chelsey N.

Chelsey joined our Paramount team in 2015. She has her Business Administration Diploma and numerous years of experience in retail and customer service. She brings to our team her passion for fashion, leadership skills and her dedication to making your Paramount experience great. She is one of the friendly smiles that will greet you at our front desk and shop with you in our boutique.

Chelsey enjoys reading, 90’s music and spending time with her husband, son, cat and her friends.
