Laura D.

Director

Laura has dedicated over two decades to elevating Paramount DaySpa Salon since acquiring it in 2000 from her longtime friend and esthetician, Ellen Gaunt. With a strong background in business and finance, she has guided Paramount to remarkable growth while preserving its trusted reputation. Her vision from the start was to create a positive and supportive workplace where beauty professionals could thrive.

Beyond her passion for the beauty industry, Laura has an eye for fashion, which led her to introduce jewelry and clothing into Paramount’s small retail space. What began as a modest offering quickly grew into Paramount Boutique, becoming an integral part of the business and a favorite among clients.

An entrepreneurial spirit runs in Laura’s family, and she takes pride in carrying forward this tradition of leadership. She is especially honored to work alongside her daughter, Sarah, who is stepping into a leadership role to continue the business’s legacy. Laura recently won the Indigenous Woman Entrepreneur Award in 2025 from NACCA.

Laura is also a dedicated community leader, having served on various boards, including the Saskatoon Women’s Network, and as a proud 20-year member of the Saskatoon Club of Soroptimist International. She cherishes time with her family, especially her grandchildren, and remains deeply passionate about her work and the community she serves.

Sarah D.

Director of Operations & Marketing

Sarah began her career with Paramount at a young age when she worked as a receptionist while still in high school. She then took on the role of Director of Sales after completing her Bachelor of Commerce in 2009, then transitioning to Operations and Marketing Director in 2022.

Creating a supportive team atmosphere is important to Sarah and the Paramount culture. She works closely with each Paramount team member to assist and encourage them to learn and perfect new skills, build a clientele, grow sales, and provide the best experience. Sarah also works closely with team members when developing new service offerings and building promotions that move the business forward.

Sarah comes from an entrepreneurial family with several family members who own and operate their own businesses. Sarah considers herself very lucky to have worked alongside her mom, Laura, at Paramount over the past 23 years. Together they have continued to uphold the reputation that Paramount has held for over 70 years.

Paramount DaySpa Salon Boutique was one of the first Spa and Salon’s in Saskatoon to carry a large selection of clothing, jewelry, and accessories. Sarah and Laura had a vision to integrate the two beauty industries, and this quickly became a favorite of Paramount customers. Over the years, Sarah and Laura have organized many fashion shows and shopping events showcasing Paramount Boutique.

Having a presence in the community is also important to Sarah and the Paramount team. Sarah initiated Paramount’s annual purse drive in support of local women’s shelters. She also set up Paramount’s May initiative where a portion of sales are donated to an organization each year in honour of Paramount’s previous owner, the late Ellen Gaunt.

In 2023, Sarah was awarded “Beauty & Fashion Business Leader of the Year 2023” through the AI Influential Businesswoman Awards.

When Sarah isn’t with her Paramount family she is at home with her husband and two children.

Chelsey N.

Customer Service & Sales Manager

Chelsey joined our Paramount team in 2015. She has her Business Administration Diploma and numerous years of experience in retail and customer service. She brings to our team her passion for fashion, leadership skills and her dedication to making your Paramount experience great. She is one of the friendly smiles that will greet you at our front desk and shop with you in our boutique.

Chelsey enjoys reading, 90’s music and spending time with her husband, son, cat and her friends.

Nancy Z.

Lead Customer Service Representative / Esthetician / Makeup Artist

Nancy’s kind heart and customer care focused attitude brought her to the beauty industry in 2018 and she began her career with Paramount in 2022.

Nancy loves to see others smile. She may be the person welcoming you as you walk through our doors or providing your service. She is very detail oriented and has a true passion for makeup and skin care.

Nancy won Best Esthetician in 2020 through Prairie Magazine.

Sydney M.

Customer Service Representative

Sydney joined our Customer Service Team in 2023. She has always had a love for the beauty industry and helping others, which is what lead her to working at Paramount. She is passionate about skin care and enjoys learning all about our skin care lines.

Sydney loves hanging out with her 3 cats, reading and shopping. Her long-term goal is to complete her degree in psychology and continuing with her career in that field.

Megan W.

Customer Service Representative

Megan began her career as a stylist because she was looking for something fun she would enjoy. That is when she discovered her passion is beauty and has been in the industry ever since! Megan has always loved working with people, which lead her to a long and successful career as a sales rep for different salon brands across Canada. Megan joined Paramount in 2024 as a Customer Service Representative after retiring from her career as a sales rep.

Megan loves to see a guest happy after an exceptional service. From the moment they walk through the door to the moment they leave their expectations should be surpassed at every stop along the way. And she loves being a part of that. It’d no wonder Megan won the Spirit of Professionalism & Sales Consultant of the year for Canada from Schwarzkoph Professional.

Megan loves to garden, read and build miniature doll houses. What she is most proud of are her two daughters and four grandchildren.

Georgia D.

Customer Service Representative / Esthetician / Makeup Artist

Georgia started her career in esthetics in 2024 and joined the Paramount team in 2025.

She has always had a passion for helping others feel beautiful about themselves, inside and out; she believes it is her calling. Georgia loves providing makeup & brow services, pedicures and facial treatments. Georgia’s caring and warm demeanour really shows through in her work.

Georgia enjoys working out, cooking, journaling, reading, long drives and walking her Shitzu/Chihuahua named Nala. She has 8 siblings, and her guilty pleasure is enjoying a big bag of chips all to herself.

Bailey F.

Customer Service Representative

Bailey’s enthusiasm and welcoming nature make her a wonderful addition to Paramount. She has been immersed in reception work since childhood, training at her parent’s office, and she feels right at home in this role. She is skilled in all things reception and administration, and her natural organization and leadership abilities quickly led her to become a supervisor and team lead in past positions.

Outside of work, Bailey has a creative side. She has been practicing photography for over 10 years and also enjoys reading, beading, embroidery, motorbiking, and snowboarding. Bailey shares her home with her cat, Mimi, and has navigated life gluten-free for the past two years (unwillingly).

Nicky M.

Skin Care Specialist / Esthetician / Makeup Artist

Nicky always knew what her career path would be and joined the Paramount team in 2015. Nicky specializes in skin care and makeup artistry but enjoys the variety of all other aesthetic services.

Nicky’s positive outlook on life and inner beauty is infectious and she brings that to her services.

Nicky loves drag racing with her husband, spending time with her young daughter, and enjoying a good laugh with friends.

Jessica S., CMP

Esthetician / Certified Master Pedicurist

Jessica began her career in the beauty industry in 2011 and joined our Paramount team in 2018.

She has always had a passion for helping people feel better in their everyday life. Jessica loves foot care and by specializing she ensures you feel like you are walking on clouds. Jessica completed her Certified Master Pedicurist Course in 2022 and won Best Manicurist in Planet S Best of Saskatoon 2023.

Jessica loves playing with her cats (all 5 of them), coloring and spending time with her family.

Lisa T.

Skin Care Specialist / Esthetician

Lisa followed her passion to the beauty industry in 2020. She was valedictorian of her class and joined our Paramount team in 2021.

Lisa truly believes in the benefits of well-being and self care and you will experience this in your services with her. She has a wealth of knowledge on product ingredients and the skin. She loves providing facials, body treatments and relaxation massage.

Lisa loves spending time with her two sons and fluffy cat, enjoys reading and is a talented artist.

MacKenzie M.

Esthetician / Makeup Artist

MacKenzie began her career in the beauty industry in 2020 and joined the Paramount team in 2022.

MacKenzie enjoys working with her hands and is always keeping busy. She loves seeing a happy guest after their service with her. MacKenzie enjoys pedicures, hair removal and is always looking for opportunities for personal growth.

Away from the Spa, MacKenzie loves to cook, bake, Rock’n’Roll, and watching football with her husband.

Stacey S., CMP

Esthetician / Certified Master Pedicurist / Makeup Artist

Stacey started her career and joined the Paramount team in 2022.

She loves to challenge her creativity and learn to expand her knowledge in the beauty industry. She enjoys helping others feel better and more confident in their skin and finds that makeup and esthetics is the perfect method to do it. Stacey completed her Certified Master Pedicurist Course in 2023.

Stacey enjoys puzzles, painting and snuggling with her 2 kitties in her free time. Her favourite drink is a London Fog!

Harnoor C.

Esthetician / Makeup Artist

Harnoor began her career in the beauty industry in 2023 and joined our Paramount team in 2024. Harnoor loves how esthetics allows her to blend her artistic creativity with her desire to make a positive impact on others’ lives. Making others feel confident in their own skin is what she enjoys most about her career.  

Harnoor received the Academic Achievement Award during her program at MC College. She enjoys doing all services, but her passion is with skin care and nail care.  

Harnoor’s hobbies include doing her nails, shopping and discovering new café’s in Saskatoon. 

Kelsey W.

Esthetician / Journeyperson Stylist

Kelsey began her career as an esthetician and hair stylist in 2017 in Prince Albert. Kelsey joined the Paramount team when she moved to Saskatoon in 2024.

Kelsey loves meeting people and helping make them feel good. She enjoys being creative and working with her hands. As a journeyperson stylist, Kelsey specializes in hair cutting and fashion colours. As an esthetician she enjoys doing manicures, pedicures and facials in the spa.

In school, Kelsey won competitions in hair, makeup and esthetics. She enjoys music, creating art, and traveling. Kelsey loves nature and has a passion for collecting antiques.

Georgia started her career in esthetics in 2024 and joined the Paramount team in 2025.

Shawna E.

Journeyperson Stylist / Master Colorist

Shawna always had a love for hair, especially cutting hair when she was young. She began her professional career in the hair industry in 1998 and joined our Paramount team in 2002.

Shawna is a journeyperson stylist and has completed numerous courses over the years including her Master Hair Colorist Certification in 2004. In addition to coloring hair, she specializes in precision cutting and specialty wrap perming.

Over the years Shawna has been a mentor to many junior stylists and has shared her passion and helped them develop in their career.

Shawna and her husband were married in 2002. They don’t have kids, but cater to their cat’s every desire. They also enjoy spoiling their nephews and niece.

Jillian A.

Journeyperson Stylist

Jillian Started her career in the beauty industry in 2008 and joined our Paramount team in 2012.

She is a Journeyperson stylist that specializes in blonding, color corrections and texture services (perms and smoothing treatments).

Jillian loves to be outdoors, camping, and fishing.

Erin H.

Journeyperson Stylist

Erin discovered his passion for the hair industry back in 2000 while living in Vancouver. Over two decades later, that passion remains strong — especially since reigniting his career in 2022 by joining the dynamic team at Paramount. Inspired by the ever-evolving nature of the industry, Erin thrives on learning, growing, and embracing every new challenge that comes his way.

Specializing in cutting, coloring, and color corrections, Erin brings a creative eye and a confident hand to every service. His work with Oligo Pro Canada, a top-tier Canadian haircare brand, has further re-energized his love for the craft by aligning him with high-performance products that deliver exceptional results.

Known for his upbeat energy and just the right dose of sarcasm, Erin ensures every visit leaves you feeling uplifted and ready to take on the world. He credits his family for teaching him the value of support — and the importance of a great sense of humor.

Rachelle L.

Registered Massage Therapist

Rachelle’s career as a massage therapist began in 2008 and she joined our Paramount team in 2017.

She specializes in Swedish massage, Deep Tissue, Pre/Post Natal, Hot Stone and Rapid Neurofascial Reset.

Rachelle enjoys spending time with her 3 children, husband, and their two dogs. She is also fluent in French.

Derek S.

Registered Massage Therapist

Derek began his career in the beauty industry originally as a hair stylist. He then transitioned into massage in 2014 and joined our Paramount team in 2019.

Derek has a wealth of anatomical knowledge and specializes in intuitive path treatment.

Derek is also an experienced Massage Therapy Educator and Martial Art Champion. He is known to keep us all laughing with his dad jokes.

Lori N.

Register Massage Therapist

Lori received her RMT designation in 2024. While she was working through her program she provided massage treatments at Paramount as a student through 2023/2024. Lori quickly built a loyal clientele due to her knowledge, massage technique and bubbly and warm personality.

Lori chose a career in massage because she loves helping people and is passionate about physical and mental well-being. She loves that massage allows her to treat and heal a variety of conditions through different modalities.

Away from massage, Lori enjoys working in her garden and making miniature abandoned house builds.

Cara L.

Registered Massage Therapist

Cara started her massage career in 2017 and joined the Paramount team in 2023. Massage has always been a part of Cara’s life, since she was a child. She was influenced by a close family member to begin a career in massage. Massage has helped her heal, personally, physically and mentally. She is all for holistic healing!

Cara enjoys neuromuscular therapies, following pain points into nerve paths and improving pain signals. She also enjoys general sports therapy, relaxation massage and is trained in cupping. One of her big achievements as a RMT is helping a specific guest of hers to ride their bike again.

Cara enjoys ceramics, bubble baths and riding around on her husband’s motorcycle. Her dream is to take a hot air balloon ride!

Rachel H.

Registered Massage Therapist

Rachel started her career in massage therapy in 2021 and joined the Paramount team in 2023. She went into massage therapy to be of service to others and to help alleviate guest’s pain and stress in their bodies. Rachel enjoys treating the lower back and expanding her knowledge in other areas of massage. She was known in massage school as having ‘thumbs of death’.

Rachel was born and raised east of Regina and took a leap of faith moving to beautiful Saskatoon in August 2023. She enjoys walking her dogs, weightlifting, attending local community events and astrology!

In Honour

Ellen G.

1924 - 2020

Ellen was a ray of sunshine that lit up a room and her positive attitude was something to admire. She lived every day grateful for what she had and always found a way to bring joy and a positive perspective to any situation. She was a hard worker, but she truly loved her work. Her guests were not just a spa guest, they were her friends.

Ellen began working at Paramount back in 1952 and purchased the business in 1968. She was the driving force towards bringing esthetic services to Paramount and Saskatoon. She was one of the first to offer facial waxing, brow tinting, manicures, makeup and, her real passion, facial treatments. After selling Paramount to Laura Dutka in 2000 Ellen continued to work up until the age of 95 (she celebrated her 96^th birthday in May 2020). Ellen would come to work every day and still say it was her favorite place to be.

Ellen would always comment how she loved working with her younger co-workers as she not only learned from them but they always kept her on her toes. She was always one of the gang. She seldom missed any staff function and participated in all the activities that were planned. Ellen was always up for a good laugh, a heart-felt visit and a warm hug.

When Laura purchased Paramount, Ellen promised to stick around for 5 or so years. 20 years later, Ellen saw her last guest at the end of February 2020. How honored we are to have had her with us for so many years, sharing her passion for the industry and her passion for life. A truly amazing woman that was not only a mentor to Laura but was in fact the grace and essence of who we have aspired to be as a business and as people; serving our community and each other.

Ellen, we love you and know you continue to watch over us.

Bella M.

Retired - 37 years

Bella began her career in esthetics in the Philippines and after moving to Saskatoon she joined our Paramount team in 1987. Bella trained closely with Ellen Gaunt and worked alongside her for many years.

She specializes in waxing, manicures and pedicures. Bella’s sweet personality and caring demeanor is one of the reasons she has had multiple generations of guests over the years.

Bella likes to keep busy. She loves gardening, shopping with her mom and spending time with her two children.
